Overview
This case study focuses on the development of the Client portal, designed to empower clients to manage these intricate processes themselves. Through rapid prototyping and presentation to key clients, this project not only streamlined WorkCare™'s internal operations but secured a multi-million dollar contract and significantly boosted their market position. The portal represents a pivotal shift from internal management to client self-service, revolutionizing WorkCare™'s service model and providing a competitive edge.

Scheduling Appointments
Scheduling appointments for employees was a lengthy, manual process; It could only be initiated by making a phone call or writing an email request to a member of the WorkCare™ internal staff. Employee information and availability was gathered over the phone, providers were called, and appointment details were keyed in.
We built an easy-to-use scheduling wizard giving Employer-Client's the ability to schedule. Now, linked to a smart backend, it has conveniences like auto-filled employee forms, exams & services suggested based on employee role, type or compliance exam due dates, and a provider list based on parameters set by the Employer.

Random Pool Management
Our design for Pool Management for drug and alcohol testing was a key factor in winning the Halliburton contract. For the first time, WorkCare's Employer-Clients could create and customize their draws according to their specific needs, have immediate insight into a draw's progress, and access tools to allow course-correction to meet goals.

Tracking & Obtaining Clearances
To maintain compliance with OSHA, the DOT, or other health & safety programs, tracking clearance status and obtaining documentation is critical. We designed this data table using a previously established color-coding system to reduce cognitive load, advanced filters to aid in quickly drilling down to subsets of employees, and added tools for document management and follow-up.

Next Steps
Build, test, iterate, repeat
As of this writing, the work we did on ME&T is being developed by a third-party vendor. While we consulted Subject Matter Experts and tested with users from conception to prototype, it's imperative to continue involving users during the build to test the most complicated workflows and edge cases, and iterate to the most successful solution.
